SSWC
Don't know if I'm bitter or just disappointed. Jerry and I didn't get in. Not for a lack of trying, not for doing it the way we were supposed to do it. The organizers told me I entered too early. After a couple more emails back and forth (I was nice about it) they realized that they didn't have their clocks set correctly. Oops, our clocks were wrong...sorry. I guess I failed to remember this was the SSWC and things won't happen the way they are advertised to happen. The chatter on MTBR is funny. A lot of conspiracy theories about only the chosen few getting in. A lot of guys like us who did it too "early", and then a lot of dudes just stoned saying, "chill out man, we ride singlespeeds so we don't care as much others other cyclists and we just flow man and we don't make rules man and we're supercool 'cause we're on one gear man..."(in my best Tommy Chong voice) Uhhh, where you been the last few years dude, people SSing in the 90's and early Millenium were niche. If you SS now you're just like everyone else. Okay, so maybe I'm little bitter, but it really sucks being left out because of a clerical error. Congrats to those in Wisconsin who did make it in. Let's hope we see the holeshot off the front at some point.
